The Charity Zvannieki was established in 2002 as Foundation in support of mothers and children. Due to changes in legislation it was transferred into Association, but remained the Charity status.
The full status and name of charity in Latvian is: Biedrība “Zvannieku mājas”, LV registration No 40008070557.
The aims and objectives of the charity are as follows:
- To give psychological, financial and legal support to children, teens or mothers with children in needs; to help them to deal with social, health, education, and emotional & material welfare matters;
- To help to find trust persons, foster families, legal guardians and people who are willing to adopt for children in needs;
- To help mothers: to re-establish family relationships in-between a mother and children, encourage them to be responsible, to study and get into profession that they can selfsustain and provide for families, as well as integrate into society. If necessary – to help to re-establish legal guardianship over her own children;
- To provide home and family for children from care homes, to encourage them to be responsible, to teach them how to take care of themselves and how to do day-to-day duties;
- To help people in needs and poverty;
- To provide shelter if necessary;
- To provide the Family education;
- To organize support for people in needs;
- To create the environment that is as close as possible to real Family environment;
- To provide consultations with specialists, as well as counselling with pastor or any other specialist;
- To create team of specialists that can provide all the above.
The board of Charity consists from 5 board members – Juris Calitis, Sarma Anna Eglite, Linda Balcune, Banga Berovska and the Chairperson Sandra Dzenite-Calite.
Zvannieki has the official status of Charity. If donate all taxpayers of Latvia are entitled to tax credits. For more info please read chapter “How to donate?”
